This phone looks amazing! I would get this phone if it was available through Verizon. I would want to be sure it would get all the cellular bands to get 5G. Not sure about getting monthly security updates either.

Nubia Z70 Ultra

Wow. For $729, that's insane. I don't like that all of these (Chinese) phones lack band 71 as that's a key band for T-Mobile. I'll have a hard time not buying this one 😂.

*Edit- @jamezr check out this link, it should be compatible with Verizon but lacks band 71 / 600mhz. This is the only thing preventing me from ditching Apple / Samsung / Google for good. All of these phones just smoke anything the "big 3" have to offer (except camera) at a fraction of the price. I don't understand why they don't just include band 71 in these phones.

Thank you for that info! I agree that some of these phones just blow away the competition in the smartphone space.

I just question whether they get monthly security updates and if they would ever see any OS updates ever?
But they sure provide a bang for the buck! If this were offered by my carrier i would ditch Apple, Samsung and Google in a heartbeat

Our best hope is OnePlus adopting this style / invisible selfie cam in the screen at some point. I think? If that happens, it'll be an insta-buy for me.

Not a snowball's chance in hell Samsung / Apple / Google actually innovate and work this into their phones within the next 3 years.

I’ve had a few of the Chinese smartphones over the years but in my experience they’re normally let down by their software.

Maybe they’ve improved these days as it was while back.
It's not so much the software as it is the updates. The Xiaomi 14 I had was really, really nice. The lack of OS and security updates is partly why they are so much cheaper, I get that. If I was to get the Nubia I'd look at it as a 1+ ish year phone and move on to the next one, with no expectation of any updates.

It also is missing Verizon's LTE band 13 (B13). That's Verizon's primary low-band band for extended and indoor coverage, and may be the only band available in some rural areas. I wouldn't use this phone with Verizon.

It may be a better fit with AT&T, where it lacks only band 30 (B30). That's not a super-important band for AT&T though they do use it in some areas (usually in combination with other bands). But AT&T might also block it as an "unsupported" phone.
