Greetings! I am hoping someone would be able to have an answer to my question regarding the quantity of 8MP pictures on the 16GB iPhone 4S. I have not owned an iPhone before but I am assuming there are compression settings for the pictures. I guess to make it simple my question is: How many pictures is it possible to take on an iPhone 4S 16GB? Thanks in advance!

Great responses! Thanks :)

It depends on the compression/quality settings, but if you figure 4MB per picture, how many times does 4 million fit into 16 billion?

A lot. :)

I remember hearing that an 8MP picture is somewhere around 4MB (depends on several things, such as the amount of white in a picture). So 16GB = 16384MB (lets say 16000 because of the OS and whatever). 16000MB / 4MB pictures = 4,000 pictures. I'd really estimate a MAXIMUM of 3000 with contacts and what ever else is needed for the iPhone.

I googled how many mb is a 8mp picture and the generally idea I got was that on a 2GB card you can hold around 400-600 medium quality on a 2gb card and about 250 high quality sooo...

3200-4800 Medium quality

2000- high quality.

give or take a few.. but really there is plenty of space!
