Number of songs in iTunes playlists synced to iPhone

Hi guys, I hope this is the proper forum. I have synced a number of songs from iTunes onto my iPhone and, when I go into Settings > General > About on the iPhone, it says that I have 811 songs. However, when I go into the playlists I've made in iTunes, it says that I have only 628 songs. Does anybody know why my iTunes says that I have fewer songs in my playlists than I have synced from iTunes to my iPhone? Alternatively, does anybody know how I can get iTunes to say it has the same number of songs in my playlists as I have synced to my iPhone? Thanks.
