Just had a text from O2 to say my phone number won't be transferred to the iPhone (from Orange) until next Friday, 16th.

This seems ridiculously slow?

Anyone else had any luck?

My text just came through 1 minute ago... same date, 16th.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3B48a Safari/419.3)

Yep same here. Seems odd they would all be on the same day. Ah well, still hoping they might just get them done earlier. I don't want to carry two phones or tell people the temp number. Will only confuse everyone.

Always been with o2 ans got a temp number and waiting for it to transfer - but no txt with a date. I think it's cos I was a high street customer now becoming online. I love it but really need my number moved - any realistic idea how long it will take?

At least you guys were able to arrange your transfers, albeit with a delay. The system would not activate my phone with a PAC code so I had to go ahead without it, and customer services will have to do it manually in due course.

First post using iPhone by the way. Taken me two hours: Fat fingers!!

Yes, my text from O2 says the 16th (I'm moving from Orange).

"Hmmm Watson, there seems to be a pattern emerging here...."

As posted on the other thread about PAC codes...

I get "O2 has found a problem with your existing mobile account" when I try to activate via iTunes with my PAC code.

I called O2, who obviously have had lots of similar calls. They say it is a technical issue and to try in the morning... :(

That's exactly what happened to me. Somehow I knew that O2 would have a glitch or two up their sleeves. Anyway, activated without the number transfer, and all working well!

i'm on Orange with today for the swap and i've been switching mine off and on all day (as suggested) and still nothing. i have my old mobile with me too wiating for it to drop all signal / sim card error.

i still have not sent any text messages from my iPhone as I want it to come from MY number.

EDIT: just checked my othe rmobile again... no signal at all... maybe this is it?

My old SIM (on Tesco pre-pay) has died, but the SIM in my iPhone is currently reporting "No Service". :-(

I am switching my number from Virgin Mobile and am down for the 16th nov also. My Virgin Sim card went to Unregistered Sim about lunch time today but I think I am still on the o2 temporary number and I can't send SMS either. o2 did send me a text saying it can take up to 24 hours and i may experience outages in the service.
