Numbers - How to add "patterns" to a cell?

I know this sounds crazy, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to add patterns to to a block of cells.

How do you do that?

Do you mean an image pattern or a "style" which can be found under Edit/(copy)paste and match style??

I think I am talking about "Style." It is the background within the cell.
