I would love to use numbers so to take advantage of iCloud as well as maximizing the look on my ipad when I use that to show spreadsheets. The problem is that my sheets are large with a lot of calculations and numbers runs incredibly slow. almost 5 seconds just to click on a square. I have a 17" macbook pro 2.3 gz i7 quad core, 512 sad and 8 gb of ram. is it my computer or is pages just very slow compared to excel?

I haven't found it slow for what I'm doing YET but I just have two tables going for some data entry. What I do notice is my 2012 Macbook gets hot when using it. I checked out the activity monitor and every time I start entering data my cpu goes up to 85%. :|

Its not doing any calculations either...
