Numbers - open shared spreadsheet

Does anyone know how can I open a shared Numbers spreadsheet on my mac using Numbers application instead of the iCloud.com web Numbers application? Each time I receive a new link to a shared spreadsheet, it automatically go online to iCloud.com to open it instead of my locally installed Numbers app.

I appreciate any info on this.

To collaborate it must use the cloud. Once you download to use the app, it becomes private.
