I hav a SS AW5 running OS 6. I've noticed that when put the watch on my wrist I no longer have to type in a numerical code to unlock it. Is this normal or have I somehow inadvertently entered direction on the iPhone Watch app that keeps the code keyboard from appearing?

Have you possibly unlocked it using FaceID?

Well, of course, I unlock my phone with Face ID, but the watch doesn’t have this feature, does it?

Ah, I see. The watch DOES have this feature if you’re in Bluetooth range. I didn’t turn the “Unlock with iPhone” on, but apparently when you’re in range of the phone this feature works unless you disable it. Thanks for the hint.

Ive noticed the same thing. The lock symbol is there and I will swipe up to get the keyboard to enter my passcode but the it takes a few swipe up and the keyboard doesn't show but the watch will unlock.

I’ve discovered how to set this. Go to the Passcode feature in the watch app on your iPhone. You can adjust how the watch code works in Bluetooth connection with your iPhone.

I already had it to unlock with passcode. My issue is that the lock symbol shows so I try to unlock it but swiping down doesn’t get me the keyboard but then it just unlocks without me entering my code. Could just be a glitch that resolves itself. Doesn’t happen all the time.

Just tap the blue lock icon at the top middle of the AW screen. That’s what I always do.
