Digging a bit deeper into the rom files of the later NV cards, i found some useful information over in another forum.
But anyway i have still some questions left. And one of them is "what is the Image Hash" or better "how is it calculated". What part of the rom is hashed and what algorithm is used?
I have checked some examples like this one where i could veryfy almost all of the checksums in the downloaded rom...except the "Image Hash". The CRC32 for the 163840 bytes of the rom without the IFR is exactly what i got. But the Hash i calculated for the same part turned out to be completely different. Neither MD5 nor any other alogorithm outputting 128 bit results showed the 43FF3556C766B106C060D50BC0F03313 of the example. I also tried only hashing particular images or different combinations of them. With or without headers. But no luck.
I also found out, that in a lot of roms i.e. the one of my card the Image Hash is left blank / zeroed. But in the ones that have it i could just not find out how it is calculated. So anybody more skilled out there?
