While on my MAC OS X(10.6.4) side it says my VRAM is 256mb while on my Windows XP partition it says I have 512mb of VRAM. What could cause this and what is my true VRAM?

The amount of Vram is 256mb. Nvidia made a Nvidia 8600m GS that had 512mb of Vram that was used in some hp laptops. Windows may be getting confused about what driver to use or what video card it is.
