My 8800GT started acting up about 2 days ago. I was watching a show downloaded from iTunes and the video became very pixelated and began to lag. Today, the computer won't boot. The screen is gray at bootup, and the top 1/4 of the screen is completely black. It then transitions to red/purple filling most of the screen. I can get it to boot into Windows 7 for about 10 seconds, then Win 7 blue screens.
I went ahead and ordered the GTX 285 Mac Edition. My question is: are the drivers for the 285 installed by default in Snow Leopard? I can't currently log into the machine to install them from the CD (as the instructions say). Some threads seem to mention them being already on the machine. Any help would be appreciated.
