Ahh the 8800GT. Have one in my old PC. One of the great bang-for-bucks there ever was.

Is there a benchmark program I should run that tests ONLY the graphics card? I could compare them that way for you.

OpenMark is a GPU only test. Don't know how good it is, but it'll still generate some comparable numbers.

given that the rmbp performs better than the gts 450 (which is a rebrand of the 8800 with better clocks) you should see a performance increase around 10-20%

if you want MUCH beter gaming performance the 7970m is the way to go, more than a 100% performance increase, it should be around 150%
