So I recently bought Far Cry 2 from Steam as it was on sale and I loved the first one. I can play everything on Low, which basically makes it look like the original =P but that's cool, gameplay is fun.
Anyway, I've posted up here before asking for help with updating my drivers and haven't gotten any, so I'm gonna try again.
I went and downloaded the 195's that nVidia has on their website for the 8600m GT (my card) and luckily made a system restore right before because when I booted up, my nVidia control panel was gone, and I couldn't get beyond 640x480 resolution with 4 bits of color. YAY. What happened? Is it just the new ones? What about archived drivers?
Thanks for your help
[edit] I should add that I didn't have any errors when installing.
[edit2] so after I tried re-installing with comodo/iobit off and ethernet unplugged, I still had the same result, which was that it was acting like I didn't have ANY drivers installed. So I installed the drivers AGAIN while in this 4-bit windows... and voila. Far Cry 2 on Medium runs smooth as silk. And STALKER Complete 2009.. butter =) I'll keep this for the next nooblet that searches through google. =)
