Mac Proers and Firmware Tinkerers,

has anyone done any investigation of lastest Nvidia Fermi based quadros and GeForce cards to determine the variation between:

GeForce & Quadro - is the firmware and RAM size the only difference
PC Cards vs Mac Card ROM Sizes - do PC and Mac Version have the same ROM sizes

If GeForce and Quadro are same hardware then firmware update can be used to create Quadro from GeForce.

If PC Fermi cards have same ROM size as Mac Fermi Quadros, then PC Fermi boards can be flashed to Mac EFI.

I have not got any Fermi boards to test with, having been running Quadro FX 4800 (Mac Version) for a while now.

It looks like OS X Lion has some interesting updates coming for OpenGL so might be time to start playing again...
