Has anyone got info on the performance of these two graphics cards?
I'm thinking of just getting a 2011 iMac b/c the ssd upgrade is cheaper, the FireWire port, and I don't need my desktop to look too pretty.
However, if the new graphics chip is considerably powerful, it could sway me to get the 2012.

We don't have any hard benchmarks on this 680MX, because there simply aren't any in the wild yet. However, it is anticipated to be 15-20% faster than the 680M, which itself benched about 30% faster than the 6970m. This is roughly in line with Apple's own performance page, which advertises 50-60% performance improvement using the 680MX vs the 6970m.

It depends on what you're using the iMac for.

Any pro apps that use Cuda acceleration (most Adobe CS6 programs, Davinci Resolve, maybe FCPx) will benefit greatly from the 1500-ish Cuda cores the 680MX has.

Gaming, I have no idea, but I think it'll be great.
