It is my understanding that this topic has been approached on so many other threads. Nevertheless I think it can be more helpful for people researching on this field if users could post more objective material on this Issue. As I find it extremely pertinent. Having I walked that path and found on my researches so many other people with the same problem being ripped off, having their machines been misevaluated, by many of the so called Apple authorized resellers.

The Nvidia Issue is described in: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2377

It affects all MacBook Pro manufactured between approximately May 2007 and September 2008

MacBook Pro (17-Inch, 2.4GHz)
MacBook Pro (15-Inch, 2.4/2.2GHz)
MacBook Pro (Early 2008)

Symptoms you should look for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcpI9y3jfe0 (notice the last seconds where you see the led light on)

This example is clearly of a macbook pro affected by the Nvidia Issue.

Defective ram will interfere with the Nvidia Issue test result.
