Recently dumped a bunch of money into my 2010 Mac Pro in order to replace my PC and simplify my setup. I game and do quite a bit of programming/development, so my now decked out 5,1 should fulfill all of my computer needs. I am running a non-flashed 1070 and two Dell 27" 144Hz monitors. Everything was running perfectly with my upgrades and Windows 10 via bootcamp.

I spent a few hours messing with settings and optimization. At some point I set G-Sync in the NVIDIA Driver Manager on OS X and started getting system freezes. Literally everything froze. The computer was completely unresponsive to any/all keyboard/mouse inputs. I am still not sure whether it was the computer or monitors which were actually freezing. I was doing a lot during the initial setup and did not realize that setting G-Sync was the cause of my problems. In fact, during my trouble shooting, I found that G-Sync actually does work on my setup when only one monitor is connected. Also, G-SYNC works perfectly fine in Windows via bootcamp.

Anyways, I hope this saves people some time and headaches.

TL;DR: Nvidia G-Sync will cause freezing/crashes on Mac OS X with dual monitors via DP (or at least on my setup it does).
