There are many pages on the web that show how to disable the automatic startup of recent Apple laptops when opening the display lid by using the nvram Terminal command to set the "AutoBoot" variable to "%00".
Just out of curiosity I used "nvram -p" to see whether the current value was actually "%03" as implied by these same instructions, but what I found instead on my MacBook Pro (16 inch, late 2019) was "auto-boot" set to "true", and no "AutoBoot".
Does that mean all of these tutorials are outdated and that I should set "auto-boot" to "false"? Do the newer machines interpret both "auto-boot" and "AutoBoot"?
