I was wondering if you guys know of a hotel in NYC that would allow a 17 year old to stay there on their own. The reason I ask is because in February I was going to go during the week and just relax for a few days.

Anyway it would be during an off month and middle of the week, think most would be more lenient? I mean, I'm staying my myself.

You can go if you have your parent's consent (at least this was my experience). and you have to sign a paper that says you won't consume any alcohol and they'll take the alcohol out of the minifridge.

Your parent(s) may have to go to the hotel and do this in person.

i have a credit card so thats no problem.
credit card doesn't always mean 18.

It would kinda defeat the purpose of having my mom come haha. I might just contact a few and see what they say.

Maybe you guys have a different law in America, but I never had problems when I traveled to Eastern Canada as a minor and with no credit card on me. I booked the hotel online and paid with my aunt's credit card, and when I got there they asked for a $200 deposit. I see no reason why a hotel would refuse a minor if they pay a deposit and prepaid their room fees. They have your credit card number in their computer anyway.
