So apparently the Apple Watch is 4 times more accurate at keeping time than the iPhone making it the best device in the room for counting in the New Year. Was wondering what peoples' thoughts are on a) the best face to use for counting down the seconds! or b) any decent countdown to midnight apps?

You could use Numerous and set the app's glance/complication as the NYE countdown.

60 Minutes Apple Spectacular, I think

I always thought the iPhone got it's time from the network, like AT&T or T-Mo. I know it is very accurate as I have an atomic clock on my desk and the iPhone runs second to second in sync.

I thought thew AW got it's time from the iPhone. DO not see how it could be more accurate.

Where did you hear the watch is 4X more accurate at keeping time than the iPhone?

A cell phone will usually be less then 200ms off. So while the :apple:Watch may be technically more accurate it is meaningless in our everyday life and both are relatively the same. Someone saying they NEED the :apple:Watch to tell when New Years happens is absurd since you can't perceive an event that is under 200ms (and with alcohol that will likely go above 750ms :D).

I tend to agree and think the whole thread is meaningless. An apps to tell you when it is midnight? LOL!

I will go to bed as usual and wake in the am to see the ball drop on TV. No way I would get out in a mass or a million people!
