Hi,

Just wondering if any of you guys have used your o2 3G on the iPad abroad? Am off to Egypt and just wondered if it would work and more importantly how expensive would it be?

I would only use it to check work emails etc.

Thanks for any advice :)

I had a client that wanted to do the same thing and he called me from abroad saying that he could get no service. I spoke to O2 customer service and they informed that they do not allow roaming on data sims.

As such, I think that your best option would be to pick up a local micro sim in Egypt and use that. It will be way cheaper than roaming (if it were allowed) anyway.

Although, I am sure that you will be able to get wifi access in certain areas as well.

I hope this helps.

My mate went to Tokyo and left a setting on by accident on his iPhone which must of had something to do with the 3G and now he has come back with a £2000 phone bill from O2 so I'm guessing the Internet abroad with them costs a fair bit.
