O2 3G network down in UK

Apparently the O2 3G network is down in the UK so if you can't call out in your iPhone go to Setting > General > Network and turn off 3G.

Hopefully should be back up later!
 
Might be localised to SW London.

Both myself and a colleague can't call out on 3G and O2 say its because the network is down.

Evidently not the whole network.
 
Apparently O2 has said that *some* of their towers are without power due to a fire at a power substation.
 
I was having problems yesterday...the phone kept dropping bars down to zero and i'd suddenly find myself on GPRS. It seems to work fine now though
 
i had the same issue yesterday, i live in NW london and around 4pm i had this - full 3G reception but calls kept going voicemail - but when i switched to 2G, it was fine, now i have kept it on 2G to save battery!
 
Not working for me in the City either. Keep getting:

"could not activate cellular data network"

Interestingly if you change your APN settings to mobile.o2.co.uk instead of idata.o2.co.uk it works :D

give it a try and see if it temporarily fixes it for you ..

Not working for me in Bristol BS1. But the APN trick here works. Thanks!

"We're having a problem with Pay Monthly internet access, this will affect MMS too. Sorry - we're working to fix this ASAP."
 
Tried to connect to Web via Safari and got message "Could not activate celular data network" Checked 'phone - restart and then complete restore,all to no avail.:mad:

Phoned O2 and was told that data network was down over large areas of the UK. "Sorry but we've no idea when it will be up and running again." Arrghh :mad:

Mine is down as well :mad: Love O2 :D
