O2 are only going to sell iPhone 4s to existing O2 mobile or O2 broadband customers

Really? I just reserved one on an O2 contract from Carphone Warehouse and I'm not on O2... Or is this just directly from O2?
 
This will be purely the networks own stores.
Carphone Warehouse have no reason to restrict as they're not tied to a network

Really? You reserved one - or did you just register interest like it says on their website. Did they write your name on the box with a big 'hands off' warning?

Well they say they're calling me as soon as one is in for me to go and get it, so I guess?

can you not just stick a O2 Pay&Go sim into a phone and say you wanna upgrade to contract..??
