Hi, I have recently had my iPhone 3g stolen and I have just received £300 from my insurance to replace it. However I am not 100% sure if I want to just yet. It is without a doubt the best phone I have ever owned and will probably ever own for a long time. With that said I am going to America for 4 months soon and my contract will be useless over there anyway and I am not sure if I want to take my MacBook Pro with me as I will be doing alot of travelling, camping and such so I am looking into purchasing a cheaper dual sim mobile phone and a netbook to take with me to use for wifi browsing and uploading my pictures onto.
However most dual sim phones say GSM and 3g sim cards don't work. If I remember rightly when I upgraded from the 2g iPhone to the 3g I kept the same sim card, am I remembering correctly or is it in fact a different sim? If it is the same sim card that worked in the 2g iPhone shouldn't this sim also work in standard non 3g phones?
