o2 phone modem

Hi,

All i have a o2 1.1.2 iphone and im scared of hacking it cause i dont wanna brick it. However i want a modem for my MacBook using my o2 sim and i have an old w810i on o2 so i have put my sim in it and connected it via bluetooth as a modem and in my system peferences on my MB it shows i'm connected to a BT PAN but the internet in safari doesnt work.

does anyone know what setings i would need or anything?
