O2 uk. Txting and calling abroad ?

Hi I'm on o2 uk contract. My mate had just gone Orlando Florida. Does anyone know how much it will cost me to call him. Txt him or receive calls and txts from him ?

It will be normal cost for you, however it will cost him to receive anything you send or if he answers one of your calls.

For you to text and call him will be normal rates for you.

He can receive your messges free but calls will cost him to make an receive. If you look on vodaphones payg section you will see what it costs him.

If you are calling/texting a standard UK mobile number (07...) then it will be included in your tariff regardless of where the phone is in the world.

It is the other person that has to pay for using the phone abroad, not you.

Thats not quite true. O2 offers minutes that are to be used making calls to numbers that are within the UK.

It will cost 17p per minute to call your friend and 12p for a text.

That's for if the number is actually registered to a SIM of that country, if the other phone (your mate in another country) is a UK SIM that's roaming, the cost for you to call him will be normal.

EDIT: TBH, though, it doesn't really matter either way since the iPhone tariff has it anyway, as you said. Just noticed after I posted, doh!
