o2 UK - visual voicemail changes in 3.0

Just noticed on the o2 website:

I understand that we have to have Data Roaming switched on, so we are going to get hit with high data roaming charges of £6/Mb outside EU. Up until now, it was a "per minute" charge. So, I assume that visual voicemail will be sent as data, so does anyone know how large is a 1-minute voicemail?

But then to confuse me more, at the end, it says :

"This change to Visual Voicemail is only temporary. Keep your iPhone software updated and check back soon."

What are we to read into that?

Any thoughts?
