obtaining current SSID from the Terminal (CLI)

Hi,

I have been using a script to obtain my current SSID from the info returned by querying system_profiler. After installing the latest SMC 1.5 and EFI 2.3 updates, I notice that system_profiler no longer reports the SSID in plain text, it now just displays the MAC address of the device providing WiFi access.

Is there any other method I can use to obtain the plain text of the SSID into a script instead of system_profiler ?

Answered my own question:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Versions/A/Resources/airport -I
