Hi all,
My mid 2009 17" macbook pro has recently started occasionally responding to track pad and left mouse 'clicks' with what you'd expect whilst holding down the control button or clicking with the right mouse button. By 'occasionally', I mean 90% of the time. Sometimes, the problem can be temporarily fixed by pressing the control button once or repeatedly, yet other times the only fix seems to be walking away from the machine for a period of time (whilst it sometimes appears to fix itself).
My local Mac specialist suggested replacing the 'top deck' (??? sorry if this was a mis-quote???) or something after he appeared to do some sort of software reset without any success.
Before I go and spend 500 bucks on getting this done, has anyone come across this before and had any luck fixing the problem?
Thanks very much
Alex
