Just to check with you guys as I swapped my ocean bands out today on my ultra and I noticed that wearing either my yellow or midnight blue bands that the fit is actually quite loose on the watch itself and i can wiggle the band from side to side quite extensively to the point where there is a clear gap on either side where the band connects to the watch. Is that normal? Seems to be with both bands and both connections where the band slides in

I just got the ocean band yesterday after swapping from the alpine loop. Honestly, I just want the trail loop so bad!! I tried it on at the store yesterday and it was so comfy. But they still have none for sale yet. Ugh.

I haven't noticed what you are saying though. My biggest issue with the ocean band is that it feels sticky on my skin (I don't know if that makes sense), and that the metal clicks on the desk when I am typing at work.

Don't worry. The watch bands mechanically lock to the watch so it won't fall off.

So if you set it one more rung up it’s too tight? If so you might want to swap out for the Trail Loop. Since it has a Velcro clousure you’d have more fit flexibility.

The OP is referring to the fit of the band on the watch and thinks it fit the watch loosely while his other bands are snug.

Yes that’s right. It’s where the band pieces slide in to the slots on both sides of the watch. Anyway I swapped my watch out at my local apple store today as they had stock and demoed the problem to them and they said that returning it was the right thing to do as the fit was looser than acceptable threshold limits and although the magnet was holding the band pieces securely, you could easily move the band pieces from side to side with lots of movement so it may have been a manufacturing issue with the watch.
The fit is a lot tighter with the replacement Watch and more snug with barely any wiggle room so I made the right call.

I can’t now as I have exchanged the watch and there are no gaps or movement of the bands now with the new watch
Does your new Ocean Band have any wiggle at all at the lugs?

I previously picked up an open box one from Best Buy at only $80, but I returned it, since both ends of the band were super loose with lots of wiggle room at the lugs.

I just bought a new one, and while now one of the straps is nice and snug at the lugs, the other end is still a bit wiggly. I'd really like to get a set where both ends are snug, just like all the other bands I have (Alpine, Trail, Sport Loop and Sport Band), but I'm not sure if everyone's Ocean Bands have a bit of wiggle room at the lugs, compared to all the other band types.

I have no wiggle on mine now. I have two ocean bands and both of them are a snug fit. I would actually take it back if I were you and get it changed

Reviving a slightly old thread…

Just bought an Ultra with the alpine loop. Like it but wanted something waterproof as summer approaches. Too many 3rd party band reviews stated lugs did’t fit quite right and I decided to spend the extra $ on the ocean loop assuming, because it’s OEM, that would not be an issue. Well, it is. The lugs aren’t nearly as snug as the alpine loop.

Decided to order a Spigen Rugged Armor Pro for those water sports days Will be returning the ocean loop. I honestly liked the feel of the ocean loop on my wrist so maybe they’ll let me try a few others to see if they’re better.
