I've just swapped HDD for internal SSD in my late 2013 iMac and installed Sonoma (OCLP). The first time, I did it over Catalina install and then second time, formatted SSD and did a fresh install of Sonoma. In both cases, I can't boot into Recovery by pressing Cmd+R. I can boot to OCLP recovery by pressing space on boot menu. Is this normal? I did not realise OCLP would remove recovery partition the first time (when installing over Catalina). My idea was to preserve it so that iMac can be restored to Catalina easily (if, say, I pass it on and new owner doesn't want OCLP).
Btw, as a newbie in Mac world, it was interesting to try to install OS on a blank disk, without any install available. When the Mac booted to internet recovery and started downloading Mountain Lion, I thought it was awesome lol.

If you're going to "pass that on to a new owner", then you had best wipe it clean (use internet recovery), and then install the last SUPPORTED version of the OS.

Otherwise, unless the new owner is well-versed in OCLP, he/she could wind up with problems not-so-easily fixed...

Yeah I guess, advertising it as having a later OS (obv. with a note that it's unofficial) might increase resale value, but may be not worth it if problems occur later on. I wonder what might go bad though? My impression was OCLP is pretty stable overall.

Personally, I find OCLP to be very stable. However, I fully understand that with a single macOS update that stability can end. Anyone who purchases a system with OCLP pre-installed might not understand that.
