Hello Experts...
Would like to squeeze some life out of an old iMac 7,1 I have lying around. It has an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro in it. As I cannot boot it at the moment, I cannot verify its CPU...

Goal is to format an 'old' dosDude Catalina drive, then format-and-restore-from-Time-Machine onto a fresh OCLP install of Ventura(?) From there, it's not clear how new a macOS I can upgrade to - any suggestions appreciated.

Concern is that I'm reading the processor in this thing is not supported by OCLP. Is this still true, or is this outdated information at this point? Before even thinking about upgrading the CPU, how far can I get in OCLP-updating this machine?

Dosdude1 Catalina patcher doesn't support iMac 7,1

Unless you intend to upgrade to a Penryn-based Core 2 Duo before, which you will need to do for OCLP anyway. Also, note, you will need to remove stock bluetooth module. AFAIK, these requirements have not changed.
This is helpful. Tks for the definitive answer. So, useless for OCLP; got it. (my mention of dosdude confused my question - I had intended to format this drive. So, not a factor)
