Hey all,

I have a huge amount of PDF documents that do not have selectable text (i.e. PDF'd as images or whatever - not sure on the terminology here.) I'd like to find an app that would index them for use with spotlight. The OCR doesn't need to be great, just random keywords (i.e. if they got half the words right, I'd be ecstatic). Any ideas?

Something along those lines would be great, obviously free is preferred. Ideally, it would not process the text into a text file but rather just embed itself as text into the PDF... I may be asking for the impossible here but I figured I'd check. Thanks.

Do you know anyone with Acrobat Professional? You can do batch OCR in there and save the PDFs with the OCR embedded...

Indeed, yes. I actually own CS4 and was delighted to discover this feature and have been happily OCRing documents for the last 15 hours or so. Thank you.
