Engadget mentioned yesterday that the Calendar app was sitting on October 1st.

Any speculation that maybe this is the next event for the iPad mini/Mac refresh?

"That cal is on October 1st. Clue for shipping?"

http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/12/apple-iphone-5-liveblog/

They mention shipping referring to the iPhone but that was answered at the end of the keynote.

Thoughts?

Either a coincidence or Apple's mind games to **** with us. Besides, if anything, it would be related to iPods or iTunes 11, I believe they said that's all coming out in October.

Uhh.. what? That sounds more like they were speculating it to be a possible iPhone shipping date, nothing about next months event is implied there.

There has been multiple articles speculating on Apple having a October media event for the refresh of the iMac and Mac Mini and the possible introduction of a iPad mini.

Having an October 1st media event for this might make sense as it will have been more than a week after the iPhone ships, and the event will debut the new products which, wouldn't ship till the next 1-2 weeks.

If Apple wants to hit holiday season sales with the iPad and new Macs, they will want to start shipping them quickly.

October 1st is a Monday, Apple always does their events on a Tuesday, this years iPhone event was an exception because of 9/11.

For the past few years an Apple media event has traditionally been on a Wednesday. The only exception that I know of was last year's iPhone 4S event. It was held on a Tuesday because Steve was on his deathbed.
