TigerDirect has this on sale for a really good price. I have a MBP 4,1 (early 2008) and am wondering if this is worth getting? I've read some choppy reviews about ocz, some say theirs die within 6months and end up having to RMA it. I've also read some others say it works perfectly.

Anyone here have any experience on this particular model? I'm considering this one as the price is pretty sweet.. but if theres too many issues I may just go for an owc one.

Thanks for any help

This is a very old SSD. It's not based on SandForce controllers like the new ones, I think this uses either JMicron or Indilinx controller (far away from the best ones). I don't think these suffer from the issues though.

At 1GB/1$, I would go or it. It may not be the fastest but the price is unbeatable. If it turns out to be bad, it has warranty and it will be replaced. Any SSD is a huge upgrade from HD.
