I am an owner of a mid 2012 15 inch Macbook pro. As soon as I bought it I looked into taking the optical drive out in place of an SSD, to run a two HDDs set up. I purchased a 128gb OCZ 6GB/s Agility 3 drive, installed the OS on it, put it in the main drive bay, used a caddy and installed the default SATA drive in the optical drive bay.

Everything ran smooth up until a few months ago. Long story short, I just picked up my macbook pro from Apple after they replaced the ram and logicboard.

When I began having issues with my RAM, I took the SSD out and went to a 2 SATA drive set up. That is currently what I am using now. I was wondering if it would be safe to put the SSD back in or if that's a bad move? Should I get a different branded SSD and do that? I really like how quick it made my machine.

Please advise.
