Hi, I have a laptop setup for sharing on the LAN, but when trying to connect to it from other machines, it's very difficult using the sidebar SHARED icon:
1) In Pathfinder, after a long wait, I get an error, saying I can't connect on the IP of the laptop.
2) In Finder, after a long wait, I get a pop up asking me for a userID/PW, and then I can select a single shared mount point. Works, albiet slow.
3) In Aperture 3, when I go to to say Import/Library and click on a SHARE in the sidebar there, after a short wait, ALL the shared points are mounted automagically (even if the import is canceled!)
Obviously, something is screwy here. I love the way that Aperture mounts all the shares, but that's pretty strange to have to go thru an app to get things mounted quickly. So these apps are using different methods to mount shares?!? huh. Well, any advice on what to check would be appreciated!
Ps.I also tried a script called AutomountMaker, and that tool behaves just like Pathfinder. I am using 10.6.3, and the latest releases of everything.
