Odd Email

This is a curiosity post.
About eight weeks ago I started getting occasional emails from Apple. I read the first one. It said I would get an additional $65 or so USD credited to me on the iPhone 11PM I traded in. I traded that phone in at the end of 2022 to get a 14PM. I received maybe four of these emails. I just fluffed them off, deleting then when they came in.
But, dam if two weeks ago I received the credit.
Don’t know if there was some kind of settlement over Apple trade-in values.
Anyone else get these and a credit?

I've received similar messages related to Apple Care - did you have AC+ for your 11PM? I've also seen some other posts here w/regards to AC+ refunds

Likely one of them class actions against Apple that generally get 300-500 posts of comments about our broken legal system, the suing group called "trolls", etc led to you getting a little settlement.

Yes, I AC+ for it.

Yes, I AC+ for it.

So when you traded it in you had AC+ coverage and didn’t ask for a refund, so this is your refund.
