My parents both recently bought new watches and claim this was in each of their boxes. They have no idea what it is and I can't believe Apple would put this in the box. Their watches were purchased brand new from an Apple Store. Any ideas?

This is very curious.

Could it be some kind of hand-worn equipment factory workers use on the assembly line – perhaps to buff the WATCH to it's customary fresh-out-of-the-box shine – which accidentally fell into a couple of boxes (maybe both were part of the same batch)?

Weird. Is it something that would go around somebody's wrist? Maybe some sort of factory tool if so.

Pretty sure I had that with my SE. I could be wrong, but it does look kinda familiar. I suspected it was just part of the packaging process. No idea.

That is totally messed up! Those are foot pads aka Arch support pain Relief pads😳
Somebodies dirty stinky foot pads packaged with the Apple watch directly from Apple?! Hmmm….Thank god it wasn’t a dead rat😡 You should report it to Apple.

Uh huh. I’m totally sure this actually happened.
There is no extra room in the box to fit something like this, I don’t for one second believe that both your parents received 2 boxes with random foot pads in them. This is the only post you’ve made on this board, I don’t know what your goal is here.

By any chance have either of your parents had foot problems and perhaps used this kind of cushioned arch support/ foot pad in the past? Although if that were the case, I'd think that one or both of them would recognize that this is what this item is. The fact that they have two of them suggests not so much that each of their watch boxes came from Apple with one in there but rather that a pair of those foot pads was already around the household.....?????

Dammit! You’re totally right. I need to remember to check the join date.

I don’t know, the phrasing sounds more genuine than hoax… But I may be being naïve.

I could see someone registering here to post if they’re flummoxed.

Edit: corrected a typo.

I totally believe you. I once opened an Apple Watch box to find a 55" TV & 10 iPhones inside the box. I wonder what's happening with Apple's QC lately...
Wow. Some assembly line worker had their day ruined when they dropped their living room into the box by mistake.

Oh well. You live and you learn. Likely that they're dummy-cording their rooms before going to work these days.

Hang on, the original poster has not been back to update this thread?
This reminds me of the thread, where the user had a Mac Mini, and water was in it. We all spent ages trying to figure out how the water go in there.

Nope, not doing this again...

Maybe he was hoping to sell those pads as "ultra rare secret Apple factory tool"

Sorry, wasn’t getting the notifications. My parents claim this is 100% real. Bought the watches brand new from an Apple store in Phoenix, AZ. Looks exactly like those foot pads another member posted🧐 I asked my mom how there’d even be room for this in the box but she said it was neatly packaged in the boxes. I struggle to believe it as well so that’s why I came here!

I’m still confused on how that would fit in the box. There’s literally no room for anything else besides what is supposed to be in the box.
