Is it safe to assume these random post buttons are somehow related to to-days date April 1st?

True, perhaps the staff didn't want it to be too invasive. I've only encountered a few odd buttons through the entire day. Still, it was a genius prank

all buttons I had were related to winning something or taking part in a contest. This would imply that I did so much posts that the internal logic of this April fools thing would see my posts as useless (quantity over quality) and see me as a poster who posted a hundreds of posts a day. In fact I haven't been here a while and didn't have that much posts a day, that this would have been justified.

I assumed, that there was a certain contest, I couldn't - and it made me think of that someone had hacked the forum to add stuff, where you can win something, to get people clicking a hidden link with the button. (I mean it has happened once, that all passwords leaked).

It was only left up for the additional day after April 1 and is gone now.
