I have an older Cinema Display (specific model being A1082), that's far beyond it's warranty. The system I want to hook it up to is non-apple, and the VGA is an Nvidia GTX 285.

The problem has me stumped, and I originally thought it was the card. The Cinema Display's DVI connector (like this one) seems to be too wide, and it prevents me from having more than one monitor plugged in at a time. If I do try to plug in another, well, they fight for space and push each other out, which of course causes issues. However, I can have two other monitors that I own plugged in fine.

Originally what I thought I might do was grab a tool and slice of some of one side of the connector off, but I'm unsure if that will damage it or not. I was also maybe thinking I could just buy an adapter.

Any thoughts on this?
