Odd Question About iTunes Pricing...

I've been an iTunes user since its start, so I'm very familiar with the pricing. But with the intro of the App Store, I was wondering if paid Apps. have to be at least 99cents. I've not seen one lower than that, but I do remember when iTunes Plus was first around, the songs were $1.29. So I guess I'm just wondering if it's possible for apps to be say, 49cents. Thanks for any replies!

Yeah I know, I just was wondering if it was possible.


I'm not complaining...because I pay quite a bit for service each month and can't afford an App costing 99cents.
