Hello, I am new to this site. I have been having problems with this little rectangle block in the upper lefthand corner. I have tried restarting my computer, nothing has helped. Do you have any ideas of what is wrong?

**I did not drop or damage my computer in any way.

Two possibilities: Either the OS install is corrupted, or the GPU is going bad. Since it looks like you can capture what the rectangle looks like via a screenshot, that rules out the LCD panel or its connectors being a problem, though you can further rule it out by connecting to an external monitor and see if the rectangle is still there.

Is your Mac still in warranty?

First thing I would do is boot into recovery mode. Is the rectangle still there? If not, it's the OS. Try a clean install.

If the rectangle is still there, the issue is probably hardware, and could require a logic board replacement.
