Odd Root Process Sucking Over 4GB of RAM?

Kind of odd: The process "powerd" is using 2GB of RAM, and over 6GB of VRAM! Any idea what this process is, and if I can somehow stop it's memory rampage?

All three process are Mac OS X system processes. And in which column of Activity Monitor did you read the RAM usage?
VRAM is the virtual memory.

RAM usage was read from the Real Mem column. I know VRAM is virtual memory, but still think the amount it's using is out of control.
