Hello there, I have a late 2011 macbook pro and lately it's been making some weird sounds which seem to be coming from the top middle/top left. This started about 4 days ago, happens randomly or when I pick up the laptop.
I also noticed the laptop becomes very warm at times. Is it the fan? or something else?

Well if that was your Hard Drive, your computer shouldn't be working. So I doubt its that.

That leaves either a Disc in the Optical Drive or your fans. FYI if you have a disc in the SuperDrive, your killing the drive by turning it upside-down like that.

The two Fans are very easy to replace yourself, although depending on how much they cost online it might be cheaper to have Apple do it (especially if you still have AppleCare).
