Hmm, I ran SiSoft Sandra 2001SE on my 1GHz PowerBook G4 and I got this..

So, it claims it's as powerful as a 1.6GHz Pentium 4... I allocated 384MB of RAM btw and it's running MicroXP. What's the actual peformance? Asking because I wanna run some stuff from my childhood :)

5.31GHz CPU lol

My personal experience on various Macs is that you can comfortably emulate a Pentium 2 at 166Mhz - though that doesn't mean you can't run software that's designed for a higher CPU.
There's so many variables you just have to try it and see. One thing I've never found satisfactory is DOS under VPC - even though logic would dictate that should run fastest.

Note too that if you are using ethernet, VPC will tell you that it's a 10Mbps connection. That's false. It's simply what the system reports. The actual speed is whatever your connection is.

I found this out while trying to look for a faster driver.
