I apologise in advance for the crashing frivolity of this post. But I was curious because when I bought a non-contact thermometer specifically for the purposes of measuring my Macs, I went on a pointing frenzy.

How many other people bought/found/borrowed a non-contact thermometer for examing the Mac hotness problem, and where is the oddest place you've pointed one?

It's not the oddest place (which would be a bit gross) but I did for example point the thermometer at the sky on a sweltering day, and got a reading of -10C. Makes sense as it was a cloudless day.

The only time I got to play with one was at my old job (Target) when our coolers in the food aisle were going nuts and we had to monitor the temperature. Being at work, I couldn't take the temp of anything odd, unless you count a freezer of hot pockets and bagel bites odd....
