Oddly looking search screen..

I had the same thing happen on my iPhone 6. After I restarted (power off/on) it worked fine.
Don't know what exactly causes it, just a random iOS error I think. My Spotlight search looked the same as your screenshot, black and white and the search didn't return correct results.

Settings > General > Accessibility > Increase Contrast > Reduce Transparency. Try toggling it on and off and see if that helps.
