I would like to replace my laptop HD with a SSD, and given the nature of SSD dependability, I think it prudent to put only the app files on the SSD, while placing all data on an external drive, or secondary, internal standard HDD perhaps.
For iTunes I have done this for years, just because I have too much music to fit on the internal drive, but I haven't yet figured out how to permanently compel the OS to do this with other files.
Ideally the downloads folder, documents folder, web content from my server app, etc all would go to a secondary disk.
Anyone have any recommendations on how this might be accomplished with relative ease?
Thanks.
Or how about recommendations for a better location to post this inquiry, whether here or at another web site?
