Hi

Just looking at purchasing a dress shirt for a dinner jacket and thought I'd get the communities opinion - see if you agree or disagree with the family.

So - should the pleating on the dress shirt go to the waste line on the trouser or is it acceptable to stop an inch above? I'm quite tall and most of the shirts I try on have this. I'm told it's ok but would like to see what you think of this.

where it stops in relation to the waistline isn't much of an issue since it's supposed to be hidden by a waist covering......waistcoat or cummerbund. If you aren't wearing one of those, then maybe a dress shirt without pleats is the best bet for you

Just wear a button up shirt with a suit jacket and a decent pair of shoes and you'll be good to go. It's not about how nice the clothes are. It's about how you wear them and how confident you are.
